So where have I been? First off, my health is fine. Not gangbusters, I have chronic issues which will never go away, but I'm doing pretty darn good, considering. I'm not using that excuse. So, again, where have I been? Writing about baseball. My work at Bless You Boys have kept me extremely busy and will will continue to do so for the next month. If anything, my duties at BYB are going to ramp up considerably from here on out.
I also have to admit it's hard to get fired up over Lions exhibition football with scab referees when the Tigers are in midst of a pennant race.
I followed the Lions online and in the news over training camp, but only watched small parts of the exhibitions. I just couldn't get into them. In other words, Tigers games which mean something >>>>>>>>> Lions games which mean shit. I'd rather do some Sports Gambling sites than watch this team.
I'm also burned out on what's become a 365-7-24 NFL and much of the hypocrisy which goes with it. I've railed for years about the ridiculousness of the over the top coverage of the NFL in the off season. To be blunt, it's exhausting. So I stepped back from both the NFL and TWFE after several Lions ended up on the FBI's Most Wanted list, hoping to get recharged.
Honestly, there were times last season where I would rather spend my Sundays just watching football instead of writing 8 freaking blog posts, from my running diaries to game reactions. And let's be honest, the Lions won't be making the Super Bowl anytime soon, however, you could at least go do some Kentucky Derby betting!
But today is the start of the regular season, and I want to to do my best to keep up with the Lions the best I can. I'm going to try and do my normal thing on game days here at TWFE...depnding on my Tigers coverage at BYB.
So I may not be cranking out quite so much content here, but I still want to keep my thoughts on the Lions flowing. So bear with me as I figure out how I'm going to handle the 2012 Detroit Lions season at TWFE.
