Though I was sick as a dog over the weekend, I recovered enough by Monday night to be able to do what I do every Monday. Co-host a little podcast called The Knee Jerks with my good friend Greg Eno.
Tonight's guest was the main man behind the blog empire known as Bless You Boys, Kurt Mensching. We talked all things Detroit Tigers, such as if the AL Central is going to be a 2 team race between the Tigers and those damned Twins, Austin Jackson's stats coming back down to earth, the black hole that is the bottom of the lineup and if too much was expected of Rick Porcello.
After Tiger talk, we were joined by world traveler and Bleacher Report Red Wings feature columnist Matt Hutter. The topic at hand being the 2 losses in San Jose.Matt thinks the Red Wings can take the next 2 games at home, but they'll have to do so against a Sharks team playing with a "Stanley Cup Finals or bust" mentality.
When Eno and I got to talking, we ripped on the NHL's main broadcast partner, Versus, and their minor league sounding play by play men, then drifting into the great sportscasters we've been spoiled by here in Detroit. We also discussed the Lions, and their lack of interest in Pacman Jones, the last time they were totally set at QB, from starter thru clipboard holder and Jim Schwartz and Martin Mayhew being simpatico.
