Ndamukong Suh will be a Lion soon. Not yet, but soon.

Via Carlos Monarrez at the Freep:

The Lions are closing in on a deal and expect to sign defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh today, according to a person with knowledge of the negotiations.

Just as I figured.

With 1st overall pick Sam Bradford signing last night for $78M, $50 guaranteed, and 3rd overall selection Gerald McCoy inking a deal today worth $63M, $35M guaranteed, you can make a semi-educated guess where Suh will be slotted.

Just a guess, but let's say $67M-$69M, with $41M guaranteed.

It's all about the guaranteed money, despite the crazy high numbers being thrown about. We all know those are more for agent cred, as most players will never see the high end of the deal.

But we'll soon find out how much Suh's agents will be able to wring out of Tom Lewand. But what's a few million amongst friends, right?
