NFL supplemental draft 2010

To be honest, calling this "breaking news" was me being my sarcastic self...but I digress.

If you knew the NFL supplemental draft was today, you're a big time fan of all things NFL. If you didn't know...well, you didn't miss much.

There were only two players selected in today's supplemental draft, and of more interest to fans of the Lions, neither are going to Detroit.

Via PFT:

In the end, only two players were picked:  running back Harvey Unga by the Bears, and defensive tackle Josh Price-Brent by the Cowboys.  Both Chicago and Dallas will forfeit seventh-round picks in the 2011 draft.

The Bears had the 12th pick in each round; the Cowboys had the 30th.

According to Lions Gab, the Lions had shown a passing interest in Price-Brent. They obviously decided defensive tackle was no longer a need position with the the additions of Ndomukong Suh and Corey Williams to the interior.

To be honest, this draft was just a blip on the radar of most fans, as there were no Mel Kiper hyped "impact" players available. It's not like the 80's, when well-known college players Bernie Kosar, Brian Bosworth ("The Boz" was actually highly thought of when playing at Oklahoma), Cris Carter, Steve Walsh, Timm Rosenbach and Bobby Humphrey were supplemental picks.
