The Detroit Lions released a short press release today, announcing the signing of 9 free agents. Before you get all tingly in your special place, take a look at the list.

All the Lions did was re-up with players on their season ending practice squad. The only non practice squad member added to the roster is Jonathan Hefney, who spent the past season running around on 110 yard long frozen tundras with 20 yard deep end zones as a DB with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers of the CFL. Here's the only Blue Bombers (By the way, I LOVE Winnipeg's nickname!) footage I could find of Hefney. He's flagged for a personal foul at the end of this kick return when he clotheslines the return man.
Committing a silly, needless penalty while playing on special teams tells me one thing. Hefney should fit right in with the Lions!
