You know, I thought being a fan of the Detroit Lions was tough. But, at the very least, things seem to be improving ever so slowly. The purge of untalented players and inept coaches has been, and continues, taking place. Not always fast enough to my liking, but it is taking place.

In Buffalo, on the other hand, things are going from bad, to inconceivably worse.

One inept coach recently given his walking papers was the bane of TWFE's existence, special teams coordinator Stan Kwan. In my good riddance to bad coaching post, I was elated by his finally getting the ziggy, yet amazed by Kwan's survival instinct:

Kwan inexplicably hung on for 10 years with the Lions' organization, the past 3 as special teams coach. He was the epitome of the Peter Principle, having risen to his level of incompetence. Hell, it was obvious Kwan had likely risen far above his level of incompetence, as the Lions are just that kind of organization.

He wasn't a very good coach, but had the survivability instinct of a cockroach.  More so than Matt Millen's, which is impressive in it's own way. It takes a special kind of talent to survive so many regime changes, especially during the worst stretch in team, let alone NFL, history.

Curly Howard as Stan Kwan

Kwan is like a cat. He somehow manages to always land of his feet.

You'd think Kwan's trail of special teams destruction with the Lions should have ended his NFL coaching career. You'd have thought wrong. Kwan's survival instinct remains intact.

Per John Niyo at the News:

Former Lions special teams coordinator Stan Kwan has landed a new job, hired by the Buffalo Bills as a special teams assistant under Bruce DeHaven. New head coach Chan Gailey made the move official today.

The Bills, and their fans, aren't going to know what hit them...save that it sucks.

Kwan is all yours, Buffalo. You have my sincerest sympathies.
