Never on this planet, or at least in Detroit, has a minor fender bender made bigger headlines.
Royal Oak Police Lt. Gordon Young said the accident happened at the intersection of 11 Mile and Campbell roads. Suh was facing eastbound in his Land Rover and struck a Honda Civic driven by a 30-year-old Shelby Township woman who turned into his path.
The woman, who has not been named by police, was cited for disobeying a traffic signal and was transported to William Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak with minor injuries.
I can only guess what was going through the mind of the Shelby Township woman...
"Oh, holy Hell. I just hit someone! The hubby is going to be sooo pissed! Huh? Is that a very large black man driving a...Land Rover? That's an expensive ride, and we're in Royal Oak! Why...it must be...an athlete! Uh...WHIPLASH! WHIPLASH! I NEED AN AMBULANCE!"
I'm thinking she'll tell her soon to be hired lawyer the "accident" with Suh looked something like this...

Artist's interpretation of the Suh accident
Seriously, I'm just glad the only damage was to some sheet metal, there was no alcohol involved, and there were no serious injuries.
As in the words of your local cop, "There's nothing to see here, move along."
