Greg Eno and I sifted through the NFL Draft carnage with Lions blogger and draft guru Michael Schottey, of Blue and Silver Pride and Draftcast on the latest Knee Jerks podcast. We reviewed the Detroit Lions draft in depth, along with touching on the the best and worst of the NFL draft as a whole.
After FINALLY putting the draft to bed till next year, we previewed game 7 of the Detroit Red Wings - Phoenix Coyotes NHL playoff series with Matt Hutter, featured Red Wings columnist for Bleacher Report. To be honest, I don't think any of us are confident about the Wings' chances in Phoenix, especially if Shane Doan channels Willis Reed circa 1970.
We spent the last portion of the show ranting about the over the top coverage of the draft on the NFL Network and ESPN while praising Jon Gruden's Chucky face, and pondering if the Tigers' Miguel Cabrera has made the leap to an MVP level of play.
Amazingly enough, The Knee Jerks podcast will celebrate our one year anniversary on our May 24th show. Yes, Eno and I have manged to keep the show alive through my back surgery, Eno's ill dog, shaky web and phone connections, Blog Talk Radio servers going down and pretty much anything else that could go wrong at one time or another. It hasn't been easy, but it has been fun, which is why we're celebrating on the 24th!
