2010 NFL Draft logo

First off, with all the maneuvering done by the Lions late last night, trading their 2nd round pick and shuffling their 4th and 7th, you might be wondering exactly where the Lions will be selecting over the next 2 days. Honestly, I was as well. We wonder no more...

Via the must read ESPN NFC North blog:

Round 3: No. 66 overall
Round 4: No. 128 overall
Round 7(a): No. 213 overall
Round 7(b): No. 220 overall
Round 7(c): No. 255 overall
Total selections: 5

Consider yourself in the loop!

Berman pontificating

"I have no idea what I'm talking about, so I yell at the viewers and make lame 80's pop culture references!"

Chris Berman is a pox upon mankind.

Sam Bradford reached the pinnacle of his football career last night. It's all going to be downhill from here for the kid. The Rams are in worse shape than the Lions, and he's not as good a player as Matthew Stafford.

Best thing to happen Thursday night was TIM TEBOW going in the 1st round. Thank God we can stop hearing about TEBOW and TEBOW'S INTANGIBLES and TEBOW'S HEART. TEBOW may end up being a good player, or maybe not. As TEBOW isn't a Lions, I really don't give a shit. I'm just sick of hearing "TEBOWINTANGIBLESHEART."  He can now go to Denver to be a clipboard holder behind Kyle Orton and Brady Quinn. The media has a reason to ignore TEBOW for a couple seasons...though you know they'll find a way to keep him above the fold. (For example, ESPN is talking TEBOW at this moment. WHY?)

It was hilarious hearing Steve Mariucci preaching the Broncos should have "patience" with TEBOW on the NFL Network considering how he was more than happy to throw Joey Blue Skies to the wolves and under the bus. Mooch couldn't wait to pull Harrington. He wanted to play the immortal Mike McMahon and later, the immortal Jeff Garcia. Mooch must have a short memory, or practices revisionist history on air.

Direct quote from Berman last night: "Niners and Chargers make a trade, the details...we don't have 'em." Doesn't ESPN realize Berman is a total waste of air space? The schtick doesn't work anymore. We're all older and wiser, while Berman's act hasn't changed in 20 years. Christ, he made a Jackson Brown reference last night. Hey, I like Jackson Brown as much as the next guy (Running on Empty is a GREAT album), but he hasn't been relevant since the mid-80's...much like Chris Berman.

Mel Kiper's hair has it's own solar system.

I'm still waiting for Al Davis to do something insane. Someone must have had him under lock and key during the 1st round.

I like this new draft format. I don't have to waste an ENTIRE F'N DAY watching the draft. Instead, I get to waste parts of 3 DAYS instead. That's progress in the eyes of the NFL and ESPN, folks. Just what I don't need, 2 EXTRA DAYS of Chris Berman and Mel Kiper in my life. No man deserves such punishment.

Gruden as Chucky

"Where's my knife? I need to kill Kiper!"

If you watch ESPN, keep an eye out for Jon Gruden, and not only because he's one of the few analysts who knows what the Hell he's tlaking about.. Whenever Kiper starts going on and on about a player, Gruden makes his "Chucky" face. It's wonderful!

Jahvid Best is really, really good. Let's hope he can stay healthy. The iffy health and concussion issues are the only reasons why Best was available at 30. He's a top 10-15 talent, otherwise.

I would not put it past Martin Mayhew trading back into the 2nd round tonight. He NEEDS a linebacker.
