The most surprising stat of the game?

Total offense: Redskins: 94, Lions: 274. (looking back, I don't know why I didn't mention the rushing totals here as well, as the Skins had a goose egg! D'oh!)

Good Lord, last season's Lions would have needed 2 games to compile that kind of yardage, and the Lions defense 1 drive to give up that much...

Skins will start at their 27. FOX cues the stats, and the Lions have held Washington to 0, ZERO, yards rushing. That's another of the 7 signs, you know...

And the Skins continue to shoot themselves in the foot, with a false start on 1st down. It's GREAT to see another team with the self-inflicted wounds.

So much for 0 yards on the ground, as Portis rips off a 13 yard run. Moss then catches a short pass for a 1st down. I think he was the 1st Skins WR to run a route past the sticks.

Campbell to throw on 1st down...FUUUUUUUUCK. Moss is wide open down the right sideline...and outruns the defense to the end zone. 57 yard TD toss, and the Skins are back in the game, 13-7. I knew it was too good to last...I knew it.

The Lions will begin their 1st series of the 2nd half from their 26. I hope they can eliminate that sinking feeling in my gut.

Stafford completes another pass on 2nd and 6, as Heller stumbles for the 1st down at the 35.

Stafford will drop back on 2nd and 6...deep drop...pump fake...he wants CJ DEEP downfield...CAUGHT AT THE 1! But there's a flag...SHITSHITSHIT...pass interference on Johnson, it's coming back, Fuck me.

2nd and 16 instead of 1st and goal.Fans are PISSED. Refs catching Hell...looked pretty tick tack to me.

3rd and 10 from the 36...screen pass to Smith gets...squat. Lions will have to punt.

Skins at their 12 after the Harris punt. Christ, I hate referees.

Fans are fired up, as the defense takes the field.

Campbell drops the shotgun snap...pressured...rolls...SHIT. Moss is open at the 35. Skins look like a different team. Time to PANIC?

Skins face a 3rd and 5 at their own 49, Lions player injured, TV TO. I'm beginning to hate the Lions again.

Campbell wants to throw it...BLITZ BY DIZON...throws under big pressure...KO SIMPSON PICK! He stumbles forward to the Skins 46! Suddenly feel a little better about life, and the Lions.Nice play all the way around.

Smith off tackle...Damn it! He lands hard on his shoulder with a Skin on top of him, and hasn't gotten back up. Crap. Injury TV TO. Cross your fingers...

Smith is on the bench, and his helmet is off. His day may be done. We see Aaron Brown, rather than Morris, replacing Smith, and gets a couple on 2nd down.

So much for capitalizing on the turnover, as Stafford is sacked on 3rd down. Lions will punt again.

Harris punts, Randel-El is tackled at the 18...Flag?  Block in the back! Skins are pinned deep!

Portis powers forward for a 1st down at the 20. Sinking feeling returning...

2nd and 10, Campbell wants to throw...BALL! Crap, he falls on his fumble! Big play coming up, as the Skins face 3rd and 18 after the miscue.

Skins throw the ball well short of the 1st, but there is a flag...offsides Detroit. Fuck them.

3rd and 13. Campbell short drop...throws...too much mustard for Moss! Incomplete! Lions get a big stop, and the Skins will punt.

Detroit will begin the series at the 28. Let's make something happen! Uh...something good happen, that is.

Morris is now in for Smith, as it looks more and more he's done for the day.

Stafford to CJ has the Lions moving the sticks, so the drive is off to a solid start. But Stafford misses an open Bryant Johnson deep down the middle, as he doesn't have enough air under the ball.

3rd and 5 from the 49. Stafford short drop, pressured...moves up in the pocket...and Calvin Johnson is a yard short of the 1st. Maaaaaaan.

After the Harris punt, Skins start inside their 20, and the clock reads 0:12 left in the 3rd. After a short Portis run, the quarter ends.

Not near as entertaining of a quarter for Lions fans, but they still have the lead with 15 minutes left, 13-7.

I'm still not feeling good about this game...
