A Peterson run and recption leave a 3rd and short. The Vikes have the Lions right where they want them, as we all know Detroit cannot defend on 3rd down. Favre proves me right, as he hits a slant for 12 yards, and the Vikings are into Detroit territory. Wonder-fucking-ful.
Favre leaves the field, Vikings going into the Wildcat? Who knows, as the play call is mucked up, and Minny has to call their 1st time out. Sometimes I wonder how Vikings head coach Brad Childress still has a job.
Favre under center, takes the snap, hands to Peters...BALLBALLBALLBALL! Ernie Sims comes up with it near the 50! YES! Favre and Peterson butchered the handoff, Lions get the turnover.Something they rarely did during the Marinelli era of darkness.
Stafford hands to Calvin Johnson on an end around! Megatron gets 10 and the 1st! I like the aggressive playcalling!
On 2nd and long, we have a Brandon Pettigrew sighting! Catches a short out for 4, leaving 3rd and 5.
Stafford to throw, fires a rifle shot to Johnson, who makes a diving catch for the 1st down! Lions moving the ball and are well into Vikings territory.
Lions try another end around, but with Yamon Figurs. Doesn't work near as well, loses 2, leaving 3rd and 12 at the 32.
Stafford to throw...SCREEN! Pettigrew literally rumbles his way forward, but is a yard short of the sticks. 4th and 1...
Lions are going for it! Smith off tackle, powers his way for 4 yards and the 1st down! I really like Scott Linehan's aggressiveness today!
It's Smith on the draw, loses 2, and almost loses the damn ball. But the Lions like the look, and go right back to the draw, Aaron Brown steps his way to a 7 yard gain, 3rd and 5.
Stafford to pass...locks in on a wide open Johnson in the end zone...SHORT! Stafford's inaccuracy strikes again. Shit.
Jason Hanson on for the chip shot figgie...and it's good! 3-0 Detroit Lions! Nice start, but damn, it should have been 7-0. Johnson was WIDE FUCKING OPEN. Damn.
Lynch is going on and on about the "culture change" in Detroit. How many times have we heard the same BS? I've lost count...
Vikes will start from the 33, as FOX tells us the Lions have their first lead of the season. You know, they're right and I didn't realize it. Bad blogger!
It's Percy Harvin in the Wildcat, inside handoff to Peterson, STUFFED!
Favre in on 2nd and 9, takes a deep drop...Hunter with the SACK! 3rd and 14, after the Lions turn down a Vikes penalty.
Favre to throw again, but just dumps it off to Chester Taylor, Lions stop him well short of the 1st down. Wonder of wonders, the Vikings will punt! There must be something to the "Lions always play the Vikings tough" talk after all. Who knew?
After a fair catch, Detroit starts at their 21. Smith gets 7 off tackle, Lions winning the battle at the line of scrimmage. Pitt is talking about the pits, otherwise known as the Tigers ongoing choke job against the Twins. LALALALALALA I can't hear you! What baseball?

Stafford to throw...it's Felton over the middle, and he runs over a few Vikes for a 21 yard gain, and into Minny territory!
The Lions stand 2nd and 4 as the quarter runs out, easily the best player quarter of the 5 they have played so far. The Lions actually look like an NFL team. I feel faint...
