...they have to go and work out two guys we thought the team had finally sent on their way...for good.

The Lions try to generate a pass rush out of Chuck Darby by tempting him with a football shaped Twinkie!

The Lions brought in a slew of players for tryouts Tuesday, and while that's normal in terms of building the "short list,'' it should be noted that only certain positions were targeted.
The Lions brought in running backs Aveion Cason and Kenny Watson for workouts while they also invited two receivers -- Taurus Johnson and Derek Stanley.

The other player who was in for a workout was veteran defensive tackle Chuck Darby, who was signed to the active roster.

Jean-Luc's reaction after hearing about the retrun of Darby, and quite possibly Cason, reflects the feelings of all Lions fans...
Yes, the Lions have injuries, the worst of which is Kevin Smith's aching shoulder, but...COME ON! I realize Chuck Darby and Aveion Cason were both in camp, supposedly know the Lions' schemes and teams like to bring back players they know. But the next play Darby makes as a Lion will be his first, and if there is a worse return man in the NFL than Cason, I've yet to see him.
You'd think the Lions could do better than re-signing the too small and slow Darby for the defensive line and even THINK about bringing back the no longer useful (a more polite way of saying he's washed up) as a running back Cason for what feels like the 23rd time.
I guess I thought wrong.
