Per Killer Kowalski at Mlive, DT Chuck Darby, whom was talked up endlessly by former head coach Rod Marinelli as a heart eating war daddy when signed as a free agent in 2008, joined other Michiganders in the unemployment lines today.
Yes, the heart eating war daddy was waived for a 2nd time this season. Darby was signed a couple of weeks ago after not making the regular season roster out of training camp.

"Is that a heart? "Cause I wanna eat a heart!"
It's not a surprising move, as Darby did little to live up to Marinelli's hyperbole. There were no hearts eaten and little war daddying going on in his two stints with the Lions.
Taking the place of the heart eater on Detroit's roster is WR John Standeford, who is making his 2nd appearance in the Honolulu blue and silver. Standeford isn't exactly insurance for Calvin Johnson, but then again, who is? Megatron injured his knee against the Steelers, leaving the Lions to finish the game with only 3 healthy wide outs. Thus, the need to sign another WR, and Standeford got the call.
There was one other move made in Allen Park today. The rapidly revolving door in the defensive backfield continued to spin wildly, as CB DeMarcus Faggins was also signed to the 53 man roster Monday. Faggins takes the spot on the roster left open when WR Adam Jennings was placed on IR.
And the march of players in and out of Detroit continues...
