After having one of the best games ever for a rookie quarterback (422 yards, 5 TDs), Matthew Stafford is getting some national play.
Gimme the awards! MINE!
Stafford has been nominated for NFL Rookie of the Week and FedEx Air Player of the Week. (Click on the links to vote for the Lions' wunderkind QB) The currently gimpy armed Stafford has also been named NFC Offensive Player of the Week.
Not a bad weekend's work for a 21 year old.
I'm becoming more confident by the day the Lions have found their quarterback of the future...and present. Now Mayhew and Schwartz need to get to work surrounding Stafford with something other than UFL caliber talent.
