Cleveland Browns blog "Waiting For Next Year" reached out to me yesterday to write a piece for their weekly "The Browns will win if..." post. I wrote the counterpoint, "The Lions will win if..."
When I sat down to write about the Lions winning, I ended up unloading on the team with both barrels.
Here's a sample:
The Lions will win if…several things happen. Hell freezing over is one of them. Barry Sanders un-retiring after finding the fountain of youth, then rejoining the Lions by Sunday, is another. Bobby Layne rising from the dead is one as well. The Browns getting lost on the way to Ford Field would help considerably…
Think I’m exaggerating? The numbers don’t lie.
It goes downhill from there, and it's pretty damn depressing. But I'm a Lions fan. Humor is how I deal with the burden of Lions fandom.
For the rest of my scorched earth screed, head over to "Wating For Next Year"!
