Just when you thought the Lions' injury situation couldn't become any worse...

UPDATE 5:30 PM: An already bad offensive line just got that much worse. It's a done deal. Peterman is Lion number 12 on injured reserve, as ankle surgery appears to be necessary. WR Eric Fowler was signed off the practice squad to fill the roster spot. As I guessed below, Loper is the likely starter.

I had to go and read the latest tweet from the News' Lions beat guy, John Niyo...

Lions RG Stephen Peterman seeing specialist, may have season-ending ankle surgery.

D'OH!

D'oh indeed.

Not cool.

The Lions may be on the verge of placing player number 12 on the IR soon.

I'm not really venturing out on a limb to guess we'll see either Daniel Loper or Jon Jansen playing on the right side in place of Peterman this Sunday. As both have started, then been benched, this season, your guess is as good as mine as to who'll start against the Browns.

I realize the Lions are a bad team, but come on! Can't they catch a break even once in a great while?
