The 2nd quarter starts with the Packers scoring on a WR screen to Lee, who dives into the end zone to tie the game.
The PAT is good, 7-7.
As much as I wish it wasn't so, the Lions are still the Lions.
Rodgers is already 7-9-105. Shit.
On the Lions drive, it's 2nd and 5...Smith has a BIG hole...SHIT...he's brought down on a shoestring tackle! Fuck, that would have been for big yards. BIG. Really BIG.
But Smith does have a nice, powerful run on 3rd and and short, moves the chains. But the drive stalls out, as Northcutt DROPS what should have been a 1st down. Catch the motherfucking ball! Is it too much to ask? I know, it's a rhetorical question. It IS too much to ask.
Nick Harris punts the Lions out of trouble, as the Pack returner is taken down inside the 10...and move it back further on a block in the back. That's great and all, but I have absolutely no confidence in the Lions' defense. All pinning back the Pack means is Rodgers will pad his stats even further.
3rd and 8 from the 6 for GB, Rodgers drops back into the end zone...McBride with pressure? But it does nothing, as the Lions' corners are playing so soft, Jones makes an easy catch at the 17. I should be upset, but I pretty much expected it.
Pack faces ANOTHER 3rd down and long, Rodgers in the gun...FUCK THEM...Jennings is WIDE OPEN over the middle, and takes the ball to the Lions' 40 fucking 7. Packers are now something like 99 for 100 on 3rd downs.
Rodgers looking over the middle...and Delmas BLOWS UP Findlay! And we see a FLAG. Refs are calling Delmas' play a blow to the head. At first glance, that is what it looks like, as Findlay was drilled right under the chin. But on the replay, it sure looks as if Delmas lead with his shoulder....somewhat. Whatever, the flag was thrown..
The new guy, White, is tagged for another personal foul, a horse collar tackle on Findlay, who stayed in the game. This fucking blows, as the Pack have 1st and goal on a pair of personal fouls.
And we have another 3rd down conversion attempt for the Packers from the Lions' 8. This is not going to end well. This team love to tease me. Forcing 3rd down after 3rd down, but giving up 1st down after 1st down.
It's a quick pass to Driver...tries a juke move...and he's tackled short of the end zone by the only decent player the Lions have in the secondary, Delmas.
Crosby comes on to knock thru the chip shot, and the Pack take a 10-7 lead. Maaaaan.
Christ, Rodgers has 174 yards in the air and a 113 rating. He's well on his way to a HUGE statistical game. GB has out gained Detroit 209 - 64.
On the next drive, Stafford hits Megaton for 8, but damn, Johnson looks gimpy as Hell.
On 3rd and 5, Stafford backpedals...backpedals some more...throws off his back foot...NONONO...yes. It's another INT.Pack take over at their 47.

I really like Stafford as a player, but I can't wait for his rookie season to end. The best thing about rookies is they become 2nd year players.
It's interesting Aikman puts the majority of the blame on Northcutt for the pick, as he cut behind the CB when Stafford was anticipating his cutting in front of him.
The Packers are grinding out clock, as they use Ryan Grant to pound the ball inside the Lions' 20 with 2:30 left in the half.
2 MINUTE WARNING.
It's been a really quick half, as the Lions' D has pretty much let the Packers' offense do whatever it wants, when it wants, how it wants, while we fans are left wanting.
Rodgers is up to 196 in the air, Grant 43 on the ground.
And we have ANOTHER 3rd down coming up for the Pack. It's 3rd and goal from the Lions' 6. TO Detroit with 1:08 left.
I'm running out of ways to bitch about the Lions' defense. You can only say the D sucks in so many ways.
But the Lions' D somehow stiffens, as White gets his hand in the way, stopping the 3rd down pass. Crosby dinks another short FG thru the uprights, 13-7 Packers.
Much like the 1st matchup between these two teams, the Packers have been unable to convert in the red zone. They should have a 3 score lead, rather than only 1 score.
28 seconds left, Lions face 3rd and 3 from their 31...Stafford flips it out to Smith...he gets the 1st down, gets out of bounds, and is face masked to boot...add 15 to the play!
Lions in Packers territory at the 43...Stafford to throw...steps up...right into a sack...ball is loose, but the whistle blows. That's gotta hurt.
TO Detroit, 16 seconds left.
Stafford to throw again....pressured...takes off...OUCH! He's brought down AWKWARDLY, but bounces up, thank God. TO Lions, 9 seconds left.
Stafford in the gun...rolls right ...THROW THE DAMN BALL...which he does, throwing it away with 4 seconds left.
4th down, Hail Mary time. Stafford in the gun...starts scrambling as he pressured....sets up...SACK. Christ, the o-line has to keep this kid from getting KILLED. I'm holding my breath every time Stafford goes down. And he's going down ...hard. No slides, no knees. The Pack are punishing him.
Anyway, a disappointing half of football ends with the Packers up 13-7. I'm honestly surprised the game is close, as the Pack has DOMINATED play.
Time for the lame ass halftime show. A Motown tribute without Motown. Fucking FOX.
Ralph Wiggum is calling it...

Back for the 3rd in a few.
