Thinking about the 1st half, it's obvious the Lions are hurting.

On offense, Megatron can't move, Pettigrew is out for the game, Stafford is playing with one arm and Smith keeps getting knocked over with arm tackles.

The Lions' defenders must be hurt as well. They are (other than Delamas, who's been everywhere) stumbling around like they are brain damaged.

To worsen my mood, the Motown "tribute" blew goats...and donkeys. Dinner can't get here soon enough.

Monte Clark praying to the football Gods

I'm asking the late, great Monte Clark to appeal to the football Gods, and give we Lions fans a fucking break.

The half starts with Brown nearly breaking a return, as Crosby has to bring him down at the Detroit 36.

FOX tells us the Pack have nearly doubled the Lions in time of possession. DUH.

Stafford throws on 2nd down...looks for Bryant Johnson...FUUUUUCK. Charles Woodson makes a diving pick.

This is the Stafford we're seeing today. Rookie mistakes galore.

Baby Stafford

But The Schwartz breaks out...no, not a can of whoop ass...the red challenge flag. The ball may have touched the ground. It's a longshot, at best.

The refs aren't in the mood for longshots, as the play stands as called.

3 picks for Stafford. We see a shot of the QB on the sidelines, holding his hands out as if he's saying "I don't know!"The word "clueless" comes to mind.

Amazingly, the Lions force a 3 and out, stopping the Pack at the 33. No, the Pack will go for it!

Rodgers in the gun...drifts to his right...GET THERE...Julian Peterson blitzes from the BLIND SIDE...BALLBALLBALL! Lions...RECOVER.

Sweet sassy molassy, the Lions' defense makes a play! Their only play, but a play all the same!

unicorns and rainbows

What the Hell, unicorns and rainbows for everyone! It is a holiday, after all.

Lions now face a 3rd and 7 from their 39. Wants to swing it out to Brown...nothings there, and Stafford fires the ball out of bounds. Another 3 and out.

Screw the unicorns...

Packers were pinned down at the 10 by Harris. Does no good, as Will James is burned by Driver, catching a deep ball at the 50. So much for field position. FUCK!

Rodgers has 252 through the air. We have a leader for whatever the fuck FOX gives away to whom they consider MVP of the game. The Golden Gobbler? Galloping Goober? Whatever the Hell it is, FOX can stick it up their ass. Where's the turducken?

A good friend of TWFE, Remembering Greg Landry, throws in his 2 cents in the comments:

Somebody shoot these half time performers.

Delmas- Good clean hit.  Refs suck.  Put a fricking dress on the receivers.

That's 2 crappy, crappy calls for PF's by the refs.  Don't the Packers have enough help?

Cunningham-  BLITZ BLITZ BLITZ BLITZ.  It's all you have.  No sacks against the Pack.  How much crappier can the D line be.  Rodgers has time to get a hot dog, eat it, and still throw a pass on every stinkin' play.

Draft some damn linemen.

Stafford's pretty damn tough.  Is he made out of steel?

Couldn't put it better myself.

Anyway, the Lions can't to a thing to stop the Packers. The 80 yards drive ends on a Rodgers to Driver touchdown pass. 20-7 Packers.

Thanks for the Happy fucking Thanksgiving, you God damn asshat Cheeseheads.

Lloyd Bridges may be shocked by the recent turn of events...

Lloyd Bridges is SHOCKED

But I'm not. The Lions have a few parts. But they are still a LONG, LONG, LONG way from being competitive on a day in, day out, basis.

Knowing things are improving, ever so slowly, doesn't make the present any more bearable. This is still fucking painful.

Stafford to BJohnson goes for 17, and is the longest play from scrimmage for the Lions. Detroit has driven to the Green Bay 42.

Smith gets the ball on 2nd and 10...and is brought down just before he can break into the backfield....again.

Stafford to throw for it...AAARGH...Fitzsimmons has to break up what looked like a sure Packer pick. Christ, the TE was covered with a blanket. Stafford should never have thrown the ball.

Hanson on for a 54 yard FG attempt...it's long enough...but it's not straight enough. Wide right. Pack still up 20-7.

A Rodgers to Grant shovel screen goes for 26 yards and puts Rodgers well over 300 yards on the day. I'd cuss, but what good would it do?

At the very least, the clock is rapidly running out on the quarter. RUN, DAMMIT, RUN!

Rodgers wants to throw...Jones is open at the 5, makes Foote miss a tackle...dives into the end zone for what is essentially the nail in the Lions' coffin.

27-7 Packers, and the Lions are on their way to their 6th loss in a row in what is their Super Bowl.

The 3rd quarter ends with the Packers leading 27-7.

Hey, I have something to be thankful about when it comes to the Lions! There's one good thing about today. This means I can watch some GOOD football on Sunday, instead of this shit.
