The Lions continue to shuffle the deck in their defensive backfield, this time due to injury. Cornerback Demarcus Faggins is done for the season.

Per John Niyo at the News:

Demarcus Faggins, injured early in the fourth quarter of Sunday's loss to St. Louis, went on IR today, and the team replaced him with free agent cornerback Jason David.

Dominoes fall, indeed. Faggins had gotten a considerable amount of playing time since being picked up off of waivers 3 weeks ago.Not that Faggins isn't replaceable, but there has been no continuity on the defensive side of the ball thanks to constant player turnover, be it due to a lack of performance, or injury. So many players have come and gone, the Lions should install a revolving door at their Allen Park HQ.

But life in the business known as the NFL continues. As one player goes down, another is signed to replace him. Niyo gives us the details on the newest victim sucker Lion, Jason David, who has been out of the league since being cut in camp.

David spent the last two seasons with New Orleans, after the Saints had signed him to an offer sheet to get him from Indianapolis. He started 18 games for the Saints and had eight INTs the last two years, but he got burned quite a bit last season and was waived in mid-August. (His $2.4 million salary made that move sort of a no-brainer.)

We shall see if Davis has anything left. If not, then he should fit right in with Detroit's defense.
