Detroit starts the 2nd quarter with a Harris punt, which is returned over the 50...FLAG. Vikes blocked in the back, shooting themselves in the foot once again, losing about 25 yards in the process.
Wonderful. FOX is reporting Louis Delmas will NOT play today due to some sort of jaw/tooth infection. When it fucking rains...it really fucking rains..pours,even. The D is even more short handed than ever.
Favre nearly throws a pick, then almost gets Berrian killed leading him into the Lions' safety on 2nd down. 3rd and 17.
Favre in the gun...pressured...White with the SACK! Excellent speed rush, blowing by the tackle. Vikes were called for hands to the face anyway, so any yardage would have been null and void.
The Vikings continue to play down to the Lions level. If I'm a Vikes fan, I'm getting pissed. Welcome to life watching the Detroit Lions. The damn near pull every and any one in their vicinity into a black hole of SUCK.
On 1st and 5 after the punt...Stafford drops to throw...and doesn't have a chance in fucking Hell as the pocket collapses on him for the sack. Jeebus.

Stafford is forced to throw the ball far too early on 3rd and long, as the Vikes pass rush is blowing Detroit's o-line completely off the ball. It's not as if Stafford is even taking deep drops, the Vikes are getting to him even though the Lions are trying nothing but short stuff. Fucking pitiful.

Peterson takes the handoff left...runs into a pile...slips an attempted tackle the contain man, Jason Hunter...and you know what happens...Peterson has a big opening on a the cutback, and strolls into the end zone. Too motherfucking easy.

The Lions don't take Rosen's advice, as they come back at the Vikes with an uninspired 3 and out. On 3rd down, Stafford throws short of the sticks...again. Who the Hell is the QB coach today, Joey Harrington?
I'm not happy right now. But why should I be pissed when I knew this was going to happen? It's a Lions fan's conundrum.
On 3rd and short, Favre rolls right and just plain chucks the ball deep...RICE IS 10 YARDS BEHIND THE LIONS' DEFENSE...and luckily for the Lions, he has to wait on Favre's moon ball, as the safety makes the tackle at the 28.
What the Hell? I'm at a loss for word to explain the lack of common sense displayed by the Detroit defense.

Peterson takes the handoff...start stop move...HE'S GONE! Here comes Buchanon from behind at the 20...and punches the ball out! BALLBALLBALL! There's a scramble as the ball bounces into the end zone....LIONS RECVOVER! I don't believe it. The Lions dodged a massive bullet, as that should have been an easy TD. Nice play by Buchanon, who had to really hustle to make the play.
Minnesota has over 3 bills in offensive yardage, but only 10 points to show for it.
Not that I expect the Lions to capitalize. Their offense has been neutered by the Vikes.
After the 2 minute warning, Stafford actually finds Calvin Johnson on a slant for a 1st down. Smith gets 5 or so off tackle, clock running. The Lions have all their TOs, but not using them. Stafford to Johnson, who makes a great catch on a fucking bullet of a pass, gets Detroit over the 50.
Now they decide to call a TO. What the fuck? Is Rod Marinelli working the Lions' sidelines again?
Weird time management to say the very least. I originally thought the Lions were happy to let the clock run out on the half, but they changed their minds midstream.
Shit. Booth review on the Megatron catch. It's going to stand, but the replay shows Johnson took a HUGE hit, but still held on. 1:07 left.
False start, Lions. Raiola screwed up the snap. But Stafford gets it back, and then some, as Megatron finds a middle seam at the Vikes' 34.
The Lions convert on 3rd and 7, as Northcutt hauls in a Stafford pass. But the Lions, seemingly with little urgency, burn a shitload of clock, as there are only 22 seconds left as they take their final TO.
Stafford drops...has to scramble...throws for Bryant Johnson in the corner of the end zone...and it slides right through his hands! ARRRGH! Should have been a TD! DAMMIT!
After Smith runs out of bounds on a dump off, the Lions decide they'd rather kick than risk running out of clock while taking another shot at the end zone with 8 seconds left.
Hanson drills a 38 yard FG. 10-3, Vikings still lead...though it should be a blowout, considering how they have moved the ball up and down the field on Detroit's near non-existent D.
The Vikings take a knee to end the half, amidst a chorus of BOOs from the not very happy Baggiedome crowd.
Somehow, someway, the Lions are still in this game. Hell, we know how. The Vikings are screwing themselves over by out thinking themselves in the red zone.
It become more than obvious. Vikings head coach Brad Childress is a moron.
