It's the holiday season, and things are going well at TWFE HQ (save for my new PCI TV card giving me fits). All and all, I'm feeling pretty good mentally and physically.

Then I had to read the following...

Mlive's Killer Kowalski:

Although nothing is official yet, Detroit Lions quarterback Daunte Culpepper took snaps with the starting offense today in the portion of practice the media is allowed to see.

The News' John Niyo:

Daunte Culpepper was taking the first-team reps in the early portion of practice open to the media Wednesday -- ahead of Drew Stanton, who was ineffective and benched in the fourth quarter of his first career NFL start last week at San Francisco.

The Freep's Nick Cotsonika:

Daunte Culpepper might make his final start for the Detroit Lions in the season finale Sunday against Chicago. No matter what, he doesn’t think he should be done as a starting quarterback in the NFL.

Coach Jim Schwartz said he had decided who would start against the Bears but wouldn’t announce it until later in the week, maybe not until Sunday. Culpepper took the No. 1 QB reps in the portion of practice open to reporters.

It's as if The Schwartz knows exactly how to ruin our holiday season.

Thanks to the Detroit Lions, I'm turning into freaking male version of Sybil...

In a heartbeat!

It makes no sense starting Culpepper. None. Zip. Fucking nada.

With one game remaining, I really don't care what the Lions do, other than start Culpepper! He's not coming back. In fact, Culpepper is counting the God damn seconds until he can blow town. He said as much in Cotsonika's article.

But he acts as his own agent, and asked when he would put on his agent hat, he said: “As soon as the season’s over.”

Sunday night?

“Absolutely,” he said.

Wonderful. As long as he's wearing his "hat" a long ass way from Detroit, Culpepper can play pretend agent all he wants.

Even though he blew goats Sunday, it makes sense to play Drew Stanton again. See if learned anything from the carnage that was his first start.Give him a chance to grow. There isn't a thing to lose.

Hell, Schwartz can even play the waiver wire pickup, Patrick Ramsey. See what he's got. Ramsey was once a 1st round pick for a reason. There might be something there to salvage.

At least Stanton and Ramsey have a chance of returning next season, which makes them both more valuable at this point than the winless Mr. Agent Hat Guy.

Christ, this season can't end soon enough...
