It's a Christmas miracle!

Detroit Lions quarterback Drew Stanton took the No. 1 reps today during the 30-minute portion of practice that the media is allowed to watch, -- the biggest indication so far that he'll be the starter on Sunday against the San Francisco 49ers. Lions head coach Jim Schwartz is expected to announce the move after practice.
Barring injury, it's looks we've seen the last Daunte Culpepper as Lions quarterback.
I've said it before, I'll say it again and I'll continue to say it. It's time for the Lions to see what they have in Drew Statnon. I don't care if he ends up crapping his pants on the field, or tears it up against the Niners. At least the Lions will know what Sparty's finest is capable of doing.
Stanton got a raw deal from the previous regime, which we all know was full of morons, so it's long past time the kid saw the field in high leverage situations.
It's now up to Stanton as to where his NFL career goes from here on out.
Update: It's official. The Schwartz named Drew Stanton starting quarterback against the Niners this Sunday.
Schwartz via Nick Cotsonika at the Freep:
“You just have to be ready when it is your turn, and this is his (Stanton's) turn,” Schwartz said. “He needs to be ready.”
Good luck, kid. You're going to need it. You're REALLY going to need it.
