The Lions will go for it. Kevin Smith loses at least 5 yards. But the Ravens are called for a face mask, giving the Lions their first 1st down of the half!
Chris Meyers: "That was a sorry looking play from the start." Couldn't agree more.
Culpepper finds Smith crossing the middle, and he gets the 1st down, and then some...SHITSHITSHIT. Smith went down like he was shot, untouched. It looks like a knee. Replays confirm it.

Got a better explanation?
Fuck me. The Lions can't buy a God damn fucking break! Smith is being carted off to the locker room, the 2nd Lion of the day unable to leave the sidelines under their own power.
3rd and 16 from the Ravens' 45, Culpepper wants to throw deep...Megatron has 5 yards on the defense...throws...IT'S WAAAAAY UNDERTHROWN...incomplete, should have been a pick. Christ, IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN A TD!
My God, Culpepper can't throw deep if his life depended upon it.
On 4th and forever, Culpepper does throw a pick, ending the drive. You knew it was coming...
I'm at a loss for fucking words. Seriously. So here's the Dysfunctional Family Circus.

Funny? Hell yes. Not as funny as the Lions, though.
FOX tells us the Ravens have 511 total yards, a new franchise record.
The Ravens finally punt, and pin the Lions down at the 2. Fitting. Fucking fitting.
The Lions go for it on 4th and 1 from their own 22...QB sneak...Shit, Culpepper didn't get it, and they don't need to measure. It wasn't even close.

This is exactly what I look like at the moment...minus the Hitler 'stache, of course.
Troy Smith is under center. On 3rd and short from the 15, it's a naked bootleg...and IT FOOLS ALL 11 LIONS ON THE FIELD.
Smith walks in for the amazingly easy TD. What a damn joke. 48-3 Ravens.

Praying won't do any good, Monte. This Lions team SUCKS...BLOWS...whatever.
I'm disgusted. Word can't convey just how awful the Lions have been today. This is what 8 years of Matt Millen have wrought. An utter embarrassment of an NFL franchise.
You have to give The Schwartz credit, as he continues to say, "Screw the punt, we're going for it on 4th down." They fail, miserably, as Culpepper's pass is incomplete. At least the coach isn't quitting. Can't say the same for his team, though.
As we hit the 2 minute warning, Remembering Greg Landry leaves a comment which puts the Lions' defensive performance in perspective:
I don't know if anybody realizes this, but with this blowout, we are in a position to allow over 500 points for the second consecutive season. I don't think that's ever been done before. I'm really glad we had this game because we were missing the 40 and 50 plus point games that we have had so many of in the past couple years. I don't know about you, but it just doesn't seem like Lions football without getting annihilated 45-7 or 52-3 or something like that at least a couple times. What's even more amazing, is that the Ravens did all this in about 3 quarters. Imagine if they had come out of the locker room for the 1st quarter.
He's spot on, as always.
The Ravens get a 1st down on 4th and 1, as McClain just wanted it more than the Lions. He was stopped, pushed back a couple of yards, didn't quit, and got the 1st down with a pair of Lions holding on for dear life.
That play was the game in nutshell. Ravens wanted it, the Lions couldn't give a shit.
The Lions should be ashamed of their effort today. Fucking ashamed.
Baltimore will take a knee from here on out, running out the clock. Finally.

Lions are worthless and weak? Damn straight...
Game over. 48-3 Ravens is your final score.
That game was fucking painful.
