I often share info with Don Delco, who runs the Cleveland Browns blog, No Logo Needed. The latest piece I've done for Don's site is a Detroit Lions preview, as part of their 2009 NFL team preview series. Here's a taste...

Key Players Lost: QB Jon Kitna, WR Mike Furrey, WR Roy Williams, WR Shaun McDonald, TE Michael Gaines, DT Shaun Cody, DT Cory Redding, S Gerald Alexander, CB Brian Kelly, S Dwight Smith, CB Leigh Bodden.

But are there truly any key players on a winless team?  The only player on this list who is badly missed is Mike Furrey, due to the battered and injured wide receiver position. Amazing the team finds themselves lacking receivers, considering the Lions took so many wide outs with their 1st overall draft pick (Pothead Charles Rogers, Diva Roy Williams, Big Mac lover Mike Williams, and the Lions’ current best player, Calvin Johnson) during Matt Millen’s “Reign of Error.” An argument could be made for the Lions missing Bodden, but his 1 interception just wasn’t worth what was going to be an $8 million cap hit in ’08, so the Lions turned down his contract option, and let him walk.

To read the rest of my thoughts on the upcoming disaster, head on over to No Logo Needed.

I was remiss in letting you know I (along with my Knee Jerks partner, Greg Eno) appeared on the latest episode of the "This Week in Detroit Tigers Baseball" podcast (direct download here), which is aptly named "The Huff Factor."

TWiDTB is hosted by Joe Dexter of "Motor City Bengals." Joe is a good friend and supporter of both TWFE and The Knee Jerks, so you'd be doing me a solid by checking out Joe's show!
